Security Press Release from Principal Maldonado, Duval MYcroSchool

In lieu of the tragic Texas school shooting and local shootings, we are respectfully asking for school community support in following the rules for security for Duval MYcroSchool’s 2022 Graduation Ceremony if you are attending in person:

1.      No person attending shall be admitted, including graduates, with a bag or purse.  This is not negotiable.  Cellular devices and keys are approved for entry.

2.      Participating graduates will be required to have on their regalia when they enter the building, as well as abide by the dress code posted in the Graduation Classroom and on the Band App.

3.      All subjects entering the building will be wanded before entry.  If any weapons are found, that person will be asked to leave the premises immediately by Duval MYcroSchool staff.  Permits to carry will NOT be applicable as this is a school event.  Firearms, knives, blades and/or any weapon of any kind cannot be in the parking lot, nor on your person.  If the guest in question does not comply, the matter will be turned over to the JSO.

4.      We strongly encourage the school community to wear facemasks to help stop the spread of COVID variants.

We sincerely appreciate your attention to this matter and apologize for any inconvenience.  We respectfully ask for the school community’s support in this area to help keep our students and school community safe.
