From Principal Maldonado:
Greetings Duval MYcroSchool families!
There is information in the Google classroom about the Student Handbook for 2324, Acceptable Technology Use Policy, Code of Conduct, School Uniform, and school safety information. Students that are not in school uniform will NOT be admitted to class until someone can bring them school uniform. Uniform t-shirts and sweatshirts can be purchased with correct change, cash only, in the front office from 9am-3pm M-F with a limit of 3 shirts per person. Other uniform pieces include khaki pants, and closed toe shoes. Crocs and croc-like shoes are not allowed.
Teachers are the first point of contact for issues and concerns. Make sure your student knows who his or her advisory teacher is. This person is found on their schedule. Teacher emails are listed on www.duvalmycroschool.org. The advisory teacher will support them through their educational journey in addition to the other staff at Duval MYcroSchool.
We had 17 students show up for the third College Summit session! Students must commit and be present to all four sessions to get the incentives at the end in December. If students are absent for any reason, they cannot continue in the program. Students that complete the program will earn a light blue cord for graduation. The next session for Wednesday, December 13, 2023 has been rescheduled for January 10, 2023 due to the federal government pushing back the new FAFSA launch date to December 31, 2023. Parents are required to be present for the FAFSA session. Please bring your 2022 tax return.
Please keep in mind that each student has a specific shift. AM students go from 7:30am-12:34pm, and PM students attend at 10:02am-3:11pm. Please make note of early dismissal days as we do follow the district calendar, but due to testing and other academic functions, we have more early dismissal days. BOTH SHIFTS attend from 7:30am-12:34pm on early dismissal days. Please see our school calendar posted on our website and social media. Do not bring your scholar to any other shift other than the one on their schedule. Students will not be allowed in if they are more than half an hour tardy for school. This policy is in our student handbook on our website and in the Google Orientation classroom.
If your student has not been reporting to school, he or she needs to call us and report immediately to Ms. Green so they can be counseled to a more appropriate setting that will work for them. Duval MYcroSchool now has a waitlist, and we would like to extend a helping hand to those students waiting to enroll that want to graduate.
State assessments began on December 1, 2023 and will close on December 15, 2023. Please make sure your student is at school every day so he or she doesn’t miss any state testing as this could impact graduation. Reading assessments will pick back up after Winter break.

Please observe reporting threats of violence on the link to FortifyFLorida on our website. The school needs your support for monitoring your student’s social media and internet time. If your student brings drama and violence to school, there will be consequences. Parents, please discuss our code of conduct found on our website with your student and the importance of limiting time on mobile devices, as well as creating a negative digital record for oneself. Students need to understand that making threats over the internet can cause police intervention these days and that there are more consequences to social media threats of violence than just what the school can divvy out.
Finally, please make sure you have provided an email so you may receive progress reports in your inbox on Sunday evenings. If you don’t see a progress report, let us know. Scholarship warnings will go out when we return from Winter break. Please make sure to clear your junk mail if you do not see weekly communications from us. Edmentum will send you a progress report each Sunday at 6pm. This will be the last call blast until the New Year! Enjoy the rest of your weekend!
